Cocoknits Leather Cord and Needle Stitch Holder Kit

£29.99

When knitting top-down, seamless sweaters, there comes the point when you need to take your sleeve stitches off onto a holder. Safety-pin type stitch holders don't work for this. Scrap yarn works but tends to slip up into the stitches, making the job of getting each stitch back onto a needle difficult. You can leave them on a spare circular needle or cord, but it's challenging to have needles and cord hanging everywhere.

Cocoknits found that a leather cord had the flexibility of yarn but was firm enough to keep the stitches from disappearing up into themselves. The interior-threaded needle means you can knit onto and off the cord, like a leather circular needle. The needles screw onto and off the leather cord.

  • Needles made of nickel-plated steel.
  • The long cord hold the stitches of the sweater body – 150 cm (59")
  • The short cords hold stitches of sleeves – 75 cm (29.5")

The leather can be a bit on the 'sticky' side, so to make things a little easier on the yarn, you could use some beeswax. Leather has a grain, so be sure to 'go with the grain' when sliding stitches on and off the cord.

If you're looking for extra cords, check out the Cocoknits Leather Cord Set.

FANTASTIC!!

I purchased this item last year and have been using it a lot recently making jumpers and things. It is fantastic. I don’t know how i managed with out it. I’ve used it with fingering weight to ,extra chunky? , Rowan BigWool. And easy to knit back onto your needles.
