Opal Brillant 4-Ply Sock Yarn

Opal Brilliant is a self-patterning 4-ply sock yarn from Opal. It features a fine silver sparkle from a metallised polyester thread woven into vibrant colour gradients and stripes that appear as you knit. Made in Germany, it follows Opal’s long tradition of high-quality, durable sock yarns.

The blend is 71% superwash virgin wool, 26% polyamide and 3% polyester. The wool provides softness, warmth and breathability. The polyamide adds strength and shape for everyday wear. The small percentage of metallised polyester delivers a subtle, long-lasting silver shimmer that catches the light without feeling scratchy. Colours are printed so the patterns develop automatically, no charts or yarn changes needed. One 100g ball usually makes a pair of adult socks; larger sizes may need a second ball. It also works well for hats, gloves, shawls, lightweight accessories and other projects that benefit from a long colour run and a touch of sparkle.
